Online RN-to-BS classes are $295 a credit hour. Regent’s 2025-26 online rates were $395 full-time and $450 part-time, so check the year on any rate you are quoted.

Regent’s page lists the $750 online fee per semester and does not say whether it changes with your credit load, so ask before you plan a light semester. If it applies at 6 credits, the fee brings the cost to $595 a credit, by our math.

Regent says you can “transfer up to 90 credits toward your bachelor’s degree,” up to 75% of it, and apply up to 30 semester hours earned by exam, such as CLEP, College-Level Examination Program. College Board exams that can earn you college credit for what you already know, if your school accepts them.. At the 90-credit maximum, the 30 credits left cost $12,450 full-time online before fees, by our math.

Regent’s transfer credit team reviews your records, and an official transcript must be on file for each course you want counted. Regent asks you to “allow one week for the evaluation process,” so get that review before you count on a credit total.

Regent’s average net price was $18,135 for 2024-25, living costs included

College Scorecard lists $22,740 in tuition and fees for 2025-26, the same in-state and out-of-state. That equals the 2025-26 campus block rate of $20,940 plus two $900 fall and spring fees, by our math. A full-time online year at Regent’s 2025-26 rates was 24 credits x $395 = $9,480 plus two $750 fees, or $10,980, by the same math.

Net price is the full cost of attendance minus grants and scholarships. College Navigator counts tuition and fees, books and supplies, food and housing and other expenses in that cost.

Family incomeAverage net price, 2024-25
$0 to $30,000$18,284
$30,001 to $48,000$17,443
$48,001 to $75,000$8,312
$75,001 to $110,000$16,073
$110,001 and up$21,022

The $18,135 average covers 280 full-time, first-time undergraduates who got federal aid in 2024-25. Only 24% of Regent’s entering students were full-time and first-time in 2024, and 43% of undergraduates studied part-time in fall 2024, so a part-time online adult’s cost can differ.

57% of Regent undergraduates had a Pell Grant in 2024-25. For 2026-27, Pell pays up to $7,395 a year to eligible undergraduates. Regent says 89% of its undergraduates received financial aid in 2024-25.

33% of Regent’s 2017-18 starters earned an award within eight years

Regent is accredited by SACSCOC with no public sanctions

The SACSCOC record lists Regent’s status as Accredited and its public sanctions as “None” (as of October 27, 2026). Regent’s former name was CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) University, from 1982 to 1990.

  1. SACSCOC candidacy

The record lists Regent, then CBN University, as a candidate from this date.

  2. SACSCOC grants accreditation

Regent’s 2019 release says it “first received full accreditation from SACSCOC in 1984.”

  3. SACSCOC approves distance education

The record lists the approval on this date.

  4. SACSCOC reaffirms accreditation

The record lists 2019 as the last reaffirmation.

  5. Next reaffirmation

The record lists the next reaffirmation for 2029, with an off-site review in 2028.

Regent also lists program accreditors: the American Bar Association for its law school, CACREP for four counseling programs, the American Psychological Association for its clinical psychology doctorate, and CCNE for its nursing bachelor’s, master’s, DNP and post-graduate APRN certificate programs.

Regent’s transfer page still asks for a “regionally accredited” associate degree to waive general education, while its list of approved sources says “institutional accreditation status.” What the two terms mean now is in regional vs national accreditation.

Regent calls itself “a Christ-centered institution.” Its mission page says its board, faculty and staff are “committed to an evangelical interpretation and application of the Christian faith,” and that “all employees are expected to understand and adhere to” its statement of faith.

Who Regent fits, and the watch-outs

It fits if

  • You can take 12 credits a semester online. The full-time online rate is $415 a credit for 2026-27, $55 less than the part-time rate.
  • You have credits to bring. Regent takes up to 90 transfer credits toward a bachelor’s, and up to 30 semester hours by exam.
  • You want a Christian school with an online master’s. 85% of graduate students took only online courses in fall 2024, and Scorecard lists Regent’s “Education, Other” master’s credentials, its largest field by awards in 2023-24, as all fully online.

Watch-outs

  • Two in three 2017-18 starters had no Regent award after eight years. 33% earned one within eight years, so 67% had not, by our math.
  • The $750 fee comes every semester. If it applies at 6 online credits, it raises the cost to $595 a credit, by our math.
  • Some graduate fields carry high debt. The human resources doctorate’s 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers had a median $126,569 in federal loans.
  • Rates can change from year to year. Online credits went from $395 and $450 in 2025-26 to $415 and $470 in 2026-27.
